Huawei launched its Mate 90 series smartphones in China, with the Mate 90 Pro Max as the top model, highlighting a detachable modular camera with a 1-inch sensor, supporting continuous 10x optical zoom — a different approach from rivals focused on increasing built-in camera resolution.
The device's main camera is a 50MP unit with a 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor, OIS, and a continuously variable f/1.4–f/4.0 aperture; a 200MP periscope telephoto with 4x optical zoom; and a 40MP ultra-wide camera with a 3rd-generation Red Maple color sensor. The Collector's Edition supports the Ruiying Z10 camera module with a 1-inch RYYB sensor, a 24–240mm focal range, and an f/2.0–f/4.5 aperture.
The display is a 6.9-inch dual-layer LTPO OLED panel at 120Hz with up to 12,000 nits peak brightness, powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro chip (the 12GB RAM version uses the standard Kirin 9050) on HarmonyOS 7. Battery is 6,800mAh, with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, eSIM, and IP69 water resistance. China pricing starts at 9,499 yuan (about 50,000 baht) for the 12GB/512GB model.
