Apple shares 6 iPhone Duo photos from professional photographers on Instagram ahead of Oct 16 pre-orders

Apple officially launched a photo gallery from the iPhone Duo via Instagram on October 1, 2026, featuring 6 images from two American photographers, Jake Michaels and Jason Nocito, whom Apple hired directly for this project.
The iPhone Duo has 4 cameras in total: a 48-megapixel Fusion Main and a 48-megapixel Ultra Wide on the back, and a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera on the outer display plus an under-display camera hidden beneath the inner screen on the front.
A limitation buyers should consider is the lack of a dedicated telephoto camera — the main camera supports 2x optical zoom, while the iPhone 17 Pro and 18 Pro reach up to 8x. The sample images show the camera remains powerful in a skilled photographer's hands. Pre-orders open Friday, October 16, 2026, at 5:00 AM Pacific time.
