One Bangkok launches The Pathom Chair design competition to spotlight a new generation of Thai designers
Partnering with Amarin Academy and THINKK Studio, with a 150,000-baht prize; the winning design will be produced and used at Pathom House hotel, entries close Sept 30
One Bangkok announced "The Pathom Chair – A Contemporary Lounge Chair Design Competition," a collaboration between PATHOM HOUSE, a new hotel set to open within One Bangkok, Amarin Academy, and renowned design studio THINKK Studio, aimed at discovering and nurturing the next generation of Thai furniture designers.
The brief challenges entrants to experiment with contemporary Thai furniture design through a fresh lens. Shortlisted entrants receive guidance from the THINKK Studio team to fully develop their concepts, before the winning design is produced to international standards and installed for real use within the guest experience at PATHOM House — a rare opportunity for emerging designers to see their work actually manufactured and put to use in a hotel.
