Apple releases iOS 27, supporting iPhone 11 and later, with a new Siri AI and a Liquid Glass control button
System-wide speed improvements, Siri with continuous conversation and on-device personal context access, plus new Extend and Reframe tools in the Photos app

Apple has officially released the iOS 27 update, supporting iPhone 11 and later, with features ranging from Siri AI to Liquid Glass and system performance improvements. Every supported user will immediately feel smoother animations, faster app launches, and quicker AirDrop transfers, plus more reliable iMessage syncing with automatic resending on error.
Siri AI is the biggest Siri upgrade in years, supporting continuous back-and-forth conversation similar to ChatGPT or Claude. Unlike typical chatbot apps, Siri can directly access personal on-device data — messages, email, photos, and apps — letting it search email or files by name, date, time, or location, build Home automations like locking all doors at midnight, or recommend restaurants based on what it knows about the user. Write with Siri helps draft messages in the user's own style by analyzing past emails and messages.
On imaging tools, Visual Intelligence is now built into the Camera app, the Photos app gets an improved Clean Up plus Extend and Reframe, while Safari supports building Extensions with natural language. Users can update via Settings > General > Software Update (citing MacRumors).
